Outlaws Beaten By Rum Runners, 4-2
|
Matt Thompson pitched well, but his team, the Ozark Outlaws, still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Orlando Rum Runners at Incest Stadium. Orlando reliever Jimmy McQuartie picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Matt Thompson was saddled with the loss. Picking up the save was Javier Flores, his 10th.
Orlando used the timely hitting of Dan O'Connor to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rum Runners on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
O'Connor attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The 4th-place Rum Runners have won 4 consecutive games.
