Starting pitcher David Dunlap pitched well enough to help the Havana Comrades beat the Laredo Border Jumpers, 5-3. Havana reliever Ernest Reese was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Charles Stanton took the loss. This loss makes it 8 in a row for Laredo.

Havana used the timely hitting of Anthony Kimball to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Comrades on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"No one likes losing," said Laredo manager Kelly Mo. "We've hit a tough patch, but we're going to get through it."
