3-1 Loss Extends Reading Losing Streak
|
Death Valley Burn starter António Mireles was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Reading Railbirds, 3-1. John Gates earned the save, his 11th. The Railbirds, at 31-19, have lost 8 straight games.
Death Valley used the bat of Kevin Harle to get the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Burn ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Bottom line," said Reading skipper Slam Dunks, "we didn't play well enough to win."
