Cape Canaveral Launch starter Jon Gilmore was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Newark Falcons, 5-4. Cape Canaveral reliever Germán Salazar picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Ted Bigham absorbed the loss. The Launch have an impressive 40-9 record.

Cape Canaveral needed the clutch hitting of Miguel Morales to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Launch on top, 5-4. For the game, Morales had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Newark manager Corbin Vance.
