Death Valley and Reading duked it out and the Burn came out victorious.

The Death Valley Burn took Reading pitcher Connor Kelloway's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Schuylkill Landing Park. The final score had Death Valley getting past the Railbirds, 4-2. Kelloway went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 9. Death Valley reliever Jason Snell picked up the win to move to 2-4. Juan Gallardo suffered the loss. John Gates recorded the save, his 12th.

Mark Hancock, the slugging first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Hancock contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Death Valley up, 4-1.

Hancock attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

The losing skid has reached 9 games for Reading.
