The Alcatraz Island Jail Break beat the Reading Railbirds, 4-2, at The Rock. Steve Decker, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Earning his 17th save for Alcatraz Island was Scott Jenkins. With the win, Alcatraz Island upped its record to 29-21.
Decker had a timely hit for Alcatraz Island in the bottom of the eighth. With Alcatraz Island trailing 2-1, he turned a 0-1 fastball into a bases-clearing double. It was his 18th double of the season, making it 4-2, Alcatraz Island.
"I thought we played a nice game," Decker told the Alcatraz Island Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
