Falcons Pick Up 5-1 Win
Newark starter Leo Porter put a stranglehold on the Minneapolis offense. The right-hander had complete command of his splitter in leading the Falcons to a 5-1 win. At 25-24, the Falcons are currently third in the Appalachian Northern.

Newark used a well-timed hit by Randy Prado to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Falcons ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I thought we played a nice game," Prado told the Newark Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
