Magicians Lose at Home, 8-4
|
The West Island Storm topped the Michigan Magicians, 8-4, in Appalachian action at Assembly Line Grounds. The standout performance belonged to West Island pitcher and Plano, Texas, native Nathan Skillenaer. John Hébert closed the door for West Island , picking up his 6th save of the year. The last-place Storm own a record of 16-34.
Esteban Garza was 1 for 4 with a walk for West Island . The 22-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Javier Betarano. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Skillenaer.
