4-2 Win Takes Diablos to 32-18
|
The Mexico City Diablos got a good effort from starter John Allain in defeating the Crab Apple Cove Mashers at Corona Field. The final score was 4-2. Allain got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Allain allowed 2 runs. Dan Miller earned the save for Mexico City, his 13th of the year.
The Diablos got a big at-bat from second baseman Scotty Long. For the game, Long went 1-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 11th double of the season gave Mexico City a 3-0 lead.
"I like what I saw today," said Mexico City manager Nathan Hasselt, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Mexico City goes to 32-18. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
