Reading Gets Another L, 2-1

The Death Valley Burn had to overcome a fine performance from Reading pitcher Carlos Caro to grab a 2-1 win at Schuylkill Landing Park. Caro allowed 1 run over 5.1 innings. Aaron Frow got the win, improving to 2-2. He held the Railbirds to 1 run on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Glenn León nailed down his 2nd save.
Death Valley used the timely hitting of Mark Hancock to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Burn ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Hancock called the win "a collective effort."
The Burn, at 28-23, have now won 4 straight.
