Cuervo Win in Extras, 5-4
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Marvin Andrés, the San Jose Cuervo defeated the St. Paul Bearers, 5-4. Andrés was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Cuervo. San Jose pitcher Richard Miller got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Chris Long got the loss. With the win, the Cuervo sit at 29-22.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Andrés hit a splitter from Chris Long for a solo home run. The Cuervo, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Brandon Kirk.
