Railbirds Handed 4-3 Loss by Alcatraz Island
|
Alcatraz Island starter Ricky Lee pitched well against the Reading Railbirds at The Rock. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Getting the save was Eric Peterson, his 2nd. By defeating Reading, the first-place Jail Break improved to 31-20.
The Railbirds had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Jail Break going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old center fielder Ramón López came to the plate. López hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 slider from Reading hurler Miguel Hernández. It was López's 4th home run of the year.
"Ricky gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Alcatraz Island skipper Justin Fusco.
