Launch, Amézaga Pin Bad Loss on Monuments

The Cape Canaveral Launch defeated the Washington Monuments, 13-2, at The Grand Lodge. Cape Canaveral was led by 37-year old third baseman Mario Amézaga, who went 4-5 with 2 home runs, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 5. Ernesto Alary, the winning pitcher, is now 5-4. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 6. The win lifted the Cape Canaveral record to 28-26.
Early in the game, Amézaga had a 2-run home run for Cape Canaveral. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Launch on top, 2-0.
