Laredo Hangs 5-3 Loss on Death Valley

Laredo and Death Valley duked it out and the Border Jumpers came out victorious.
The Laredo Border Jumpers picked up a win at The Burn Yard, downing the Death Valley Burn, 5-3. On the mound for Laredo was right-hander Charles Stanton, who played a pivotal role in the win. Laredo reliever Charles Stanton got the win, raising his record to 4-5. Pepe Guillén was tagged with the loss. Robert Barr picked up his 11th save of the season.
Laredo used a clutch at-bat from Claudio Moreno to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Border Jumpers ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Enjoyed this one," Moreno told the Laredo Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Border Jumpers now have a record of 24-32 with the win over Death Valley.
