The Minneapolis Maulers faced a tough opponent in St. Paul pitcher Kenny Hecker, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Casket County Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Hecker went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The Maulers now have a record of 28-34 with the win over St. Paul.

Minneapolis used a timely hit from Harvey McKinney to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Maulers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," McKinney said.
