Baker Hits 2 home runs in Burn Win
|
The Death Valley Burn beat the West Island Storm, 5-3, at The Burn Yard. Death Valley catcher Philip Baker had an outstanding performance. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Brandon Holcomb closed the game out for Death Valley, earning his 17th save. With the win, the Burn hiked their record to 36-29.
With Death Valley leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Baker hit a fastball from Paul Dawson for a 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Burn ahead, 5-1.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Baker told the Death Valley Herald.
