Chicken Haulers Roll Over Cheesesteaks, 9-4
|
The Amarillo Chicken Haulers trumped the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, 9-4, at William Penn Park. Amarillo left fielder Brad Coleman was terrific. He was 4-5 with 4 singles. Amarillo starter Kevin Barker was credited with the win after throwing 90 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Their 31-33 record puts the Chicken Haulers third in the Appalachian Southern.
In the top of the second, Amarillo shortstop John Brown had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Brown stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 3-1, Amarillo. For the game, he went 1 for 4 with a walk.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Coleman said.
