Violators Win Round 2
|
POTD Triple A pundits who figured the Round 2 between the Hill City Violators and Mammouth Might would go the distance were right on the mark.
The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Hill City coming out on top thanks to a 6-2 win in the deciding game at Ballpark of Glendale, to wrap things up 4-3.
"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Violators first baseman Florian Laporte, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Laporte had 13 hits for a .394 average. He had 1 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Hill City Violators don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Flint Mound Raiders - Columbus Explorers series. Flint Mound leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
