Cape Canaveral Sweeps into the Round 2
|
Marshall Richardson said he expected the Round 1 to be "a battle from start to finish."
In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Cape Canaveral Launch encountered little resistance in sweeping the Richmond Ravens, to advance to the Round 2.
"It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Richardson.
Cape Canaveral won the final game by a 5-3 count and were led in the series by Richardson, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .500 with 2 home runs. He also drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Cape Canaveral Launch will play against the Michigan Militia in the next round. Michigan had a bye in the Round 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
