The Cape Canaveral Launch outclassed the Orlando Rum Runners in all facets of the game throughout the AP Round 1.

The end result was a Cape Canaveral series sweep to advance to the Round 2, capped off by a 6-1 win in the final game.

"We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said left fielder Francisco López, who hit .571 in the series.

López's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .700 on-base percentage and had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Cape Canaveral Launch will play against the Vermont Lake Monsters in the next round. Vermont had a bye in the Round 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
