Kelloway Handcuffs Cheesesteaks, Railbirds Seize 3-1 Advantage in League Divisional Series
|
The Reading Railbirds moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the visiting Philadelphia Cheesesteaks at Schuylkill Landing Park by a score of 7-1. Railbirds right-hander Connor Kelloway had a strong outing in which he threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Railbirds a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 2.
Kelloway was effective for Reading, seldom allowing the Cheesesteaks to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 103 pitches over 7 innings. He limited Philadelphia to just 1 run on 5 hits.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Kelloway said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Schuylkill Landing Park in Reading.
