Keg Creek Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-1
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Richmond Ravens team, Júlio Ortíz had a tough assignment. He delivered.
The Keg Creek Coyotes left-hander dominated the hosts, tossing 7 innings of shutout ball and guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 3-0. Ortíz, 26, threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball in the contest. The win means Keg Creek now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Ortíz tossed 103 pitches over 7 innings to clinch the win for the Coyotes. The left-hander allowed just 3 hits, while racking up 10 strikeouts in the game.
"We're one game closer to our goal," Keg Creek manager Jay Kunstler said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coyote Den Stadium in Sioux City.
