Home Loss Shrinks Outlaws Series Lead to 3-2
The Vermont Lake Monsters have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Ozark Outlaws, winning 5-2 at Incest Stadium today. Lake Monsters right-hander Hoyt Murphy threw 8.2 innings of 6-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Lake Monsters to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Round 2.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when shortstop Mario Amézaga, who finished 3rd in the AP in runs with 93 last year, hit a double. The Lake Monsters went on to win.

Amézaga attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Incest Stadium in Ozark.
