The Minneapolis Maulers got a strong performance from pitcher Alfredo Careno, who stymied the Redstone offense en route to a win, 5-1, at MacLaren Stadium. Minneapolis is now 29-35. Redstone is 30-34.

The Maulers got an important contribution from third baseman Man Lam, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 2-2 changeup into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Maulers ahead, 3-0.

"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Lam told the Minneapolis Daily News. "And padding the Minneapolis win column."
