Roberto Nevárez pitched a gem to lead Death Valley to victory over the Orlando Rum Runners, 3-1. John Gates got credit for the save for Death Valley. It was his 18th of the year.

Jean Bonnard, the two-time Diamond Glove Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bonnard contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Death Valley up, 3-0.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Death Valley manager Kevin Heiser said.

Death Valley now owns a record of 36-28.
