Cape Canaveral got a decent performance from pitcher Ken Barnett, but it wasn't enough to beat the Iowa Crop Circles. Iowa won the Launch Pad contest, 4-3. Barnett threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Naofumi Hayagawa snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 1-2 on the season. David Hodge finished to wrap up his 16th save.

Iowa used a clutch hit from Sam Dixon to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Crop Circles ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Iowa manager Andy Ward.

The winning continues for Iowa, with the latest making it 7 straight.
