The Newark Falcons took Vermont pitcher Carlos Delgado's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Falcons Field. The final score had Newark getting past the Lake Monsters, 6-3. Delgado went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 10. The winner was Newark reliever Louie Nelson, now 1-0. The loser was Gabriel Beltrán. Rob Heath closed it out for his 3rd save.
Erwin Lawrence, the 27th overall pick in the 2068 draft, helped out the Newark cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the second baseman was 1-3 with a hit by pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Newark manager Brandon T praised his team's "energy."
The win gives Newark a record of 3-3.
