The Honolulu High Tide got a marvelous performance from pitcher Tom Wheeler. The right-hander kept the Vermont offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Honolulu victory at Champagne of Beers Field. In 5.1 innings, Wheeler surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Ángel García, credited with the save, is now 12 for 15 in save opportunities.

Honolulu catcher Derrick Hawkins contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 37th hit of the season and put the High Tide ahead, 3-1.

Said losing manager Kevin Tucker: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."

The win for the High Tide lifted their record to 43-27.
