The Vermont Lake Monsters picked up a win at Welsh Field, taking down the Orlando Rum Runners, 6-3. Starting pitcher Carlos Delgado was a big reason why. Delgado went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-0. Iván Ruíz earned save number 4 this season.

The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from first baseman Graham McCoy. For the game, McCoy was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Vermont a 6-3 lead.
