Monuments Win Close Shave, 4-3
|
The Washington Monuments outlasted the Ozark Outlaws in an extra-inning thriller.
The Washington Monuments knocked off the Ozark Outlaws by the score of 4-3. Albert Pantoja provided some pop, going 2-for-4 with 1 home run. Washington pitcher Terry Pinnell earned the win, hiking his record to 1-2. Ricardo Pérez suffered the loss.
Washington used the timely hitting of Tony Alexander to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Monuments on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Ozark manager Xan Smith.
Washington raised its record to 38-33 with the win.
