Rum Runners Prevail, 2-0, Over Keg Creek
|
Coyote Den Stadium hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
The Keg Creek Coyotes wasted an impressive 6-inning effort from starter Butch Gray, falling 2-0 to the Orlando Rum Runners at Coyote Den Stadium. Tucker Hayes came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 4.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Nick Sharpley recorded the save, his 19th.
Jermaine Carney, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Carney contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Orlando up, 1-0.
Carney attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
Orlando leads the Appalachian Southern by 8 games.
