Clemente Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times
Friday, April 20th , 2074
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Roberto Clemente can celebrate.
The Reading Railbirds right fielder powered three into the stands at Corona Field against the Mexico City Diablos.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Clemente told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 4-for-6 as the Railbirds toppled Mexico City by a score of 15-4, knocking in 8 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Reading manager Slam Dunks said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Roberto Clemente hit a two-run home run off Troy Smith in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off António Mireles in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Emílio Castaneda in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
This year, Clemente has hit at a .333 clip with 17 hits, 5 home runs, 18 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
