Crab Apple Cove has worked out terms of a deal to send 26-year-old SS Oscar Huffman, 18-year-old minor league LHP Mario Sánchez and a 3rd round draft pick to Alcatraz Island for 29-year-old minor league SS Mario Betancourt, 25-year-old minor league RHP Vito van Meggelen, 26-year-old RHP Broderick Howard and 22-year-old minor league SS Brent Martin. Both teams expect to introduce their new players at press conferences later in the week. Huffman is hitting .244 lifetime with 244 hits, 47 doubles, 13 triples, 26 home runs and 114 RBIs to date. He has scored 130 runs and stolen 34 bases. His lifetime stats show that Betancourt has hit .243 and connected for no home runs. |
