AP Selects Rookie Star of the Month Monday, June 1st, 2043 Tony Mendoza earned May's Rookie of the Month honors in the Appalachian for last month's performance. The boyish Vermont left fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level. Mendoza hit .319 with 1 home run, 17 RBIs and 15 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award. In 50 games this season Mendoza is batting .289 with 58 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 27 runs and driven in 30. |
