It's Over: Mashers Stop Gredillas Saturday, May 3rd, 2059 The hitting streak that Alcatraz Island left fielder Gonzalo Gredillas had kept going for 21 games was ended today by the Crab Apple Cove Mashers. Gredillas was stymied over 5 at-bats today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 4-3 victory at Vargas Field. "Hitting streaks come and go," Gredillas said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." This year Gredillas is hitting at a .316 pace with 4 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has played in 26 games and scored 17 times. |
