Calhoun Fashions Shutout Against Minneapolis
Friday, April 12th , 2075
The Minneapolis Maulers were almost helpless in their 2-0 loss to the Atlantic City Aces and hurler Juan Calhoun. Calhoun kept the Maulers confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Calhoun," Minneapolis manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 24-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 7 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Calhoun said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
