Washington first baseman Andrew Clayton thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Washington to a 8-7 win over Cape Canaveral. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Clayton said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Clayton was 4-for-5 on the day with 4 runs batted in. Andrew Clayton singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off David Curran in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Will Holland in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Tomás Álvarez in the 8th. This season Clayton is batting .319 with 46 hits and 15 home runs. He has scored 21 times and has 26 runs batted in. |
