Death Valley Halts Colón's Hitting Steak Tuesday, May 11th , 2077 Cape Canaveral Launch center fielder Tony Colón finally met his Waterloo. A 25-game hitting spree is now history after Colón was unable to make anything happen in 4 at-bats today against the Death Valley Burn. Fortunately for Colón and the Launch, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game, 7-6. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 25 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." This season, Colón has delivered 39 hits in 94 at-bats for a .415 average with 7 home runs. He is getting on base at a .466 clip and his totals also include 20 RBIs and 18 runs scored. This year Colón has played in 28 games. |
