Bang-up Game: Ortíz Slams 3 Homers
Monday, April 29th , 2075
West Island Storm right fielder Júlio Ortíz had a magnificent game against the Richmond Ravens, rocketing three balls out of Hot Box to help the Storm win, 10-2.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Ortíz went 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," West Island manager Matthew Tietz said later. "Seems like Júlio found his home run stroke today."
Júlio Ortíz hit a solo-shot off Jesse Parker in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off José Amador in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Lonnie Reynolds in the 7th.
For the season, Ortíz has hit .292 with 9 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 21 games and scored 16 times.
