5-5 Day for Mejía Saturday, July 18th, 2043 Today the Ridge Raptors downed the Mashers 10-8, but Manuel Mejía did his best to avoid that outcome as he lashed hits all over Ruby of the Rockies Field in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," the Crab Apple Cove left fielder said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter." Asked if he had a hitting philosophy, Mejía said, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of good pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Manuel Mejía hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far on the season Mejía is hitting .313 with 2 home runs, 37 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 92 hits and played in 87 games. |
