Ice Pirates, Ball Blank Crab Apple Cove Friday, July 7th, 2051 Rick Ball of the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates toyed with the Crab Apple Cove Mashers today, blanking them 2-0 at Vargas Field. He was almost untouchable, baffling them on a 4-hit shutout with 6 strikeouts and no walks. "I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Ball said in the clubhouse after the game. "But it didn't even feel like I was sweating out there." This season Ball has a 11-5 mark in 19 starts with a 2.39 ERA. He has given up 113 hits in 143 innings, struck out 188 and issued 22 walks.
