Bender Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Sunday, May 17th, 2054 It seemed that Newark catcher Jason Bender could do no wrong as the Falcons KO'd the Monuments, 12-7 today. Bender rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Monuments hurlers were throwing. "I think the Falcons were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Washington fan after the game. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Bender in the postgame press interview. Jason Bender singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and hit an RBI triple in the 7th.
