Big Day with Bat: Olivares 5-for-5
Saturday, May 29th , 2066
After a 5-hit effort to lead Honolulu's 8-5 victory over the West Island Storm, first baseman Francisco Olivares told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Pioneers of the Diamond-level is really something special."

The 25-year-old player earned his accolades today at Hot Box with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Storm.

"His swing is getting there," said High Tide skipper Mark Sambor, who spoke glowingly of Olivares after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Francisco did that to perfection today."

Francisco Olivares hit a solo-shot off Cristóbal Muñóz in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

This year Olivares is hitting .297 with 11 home runs and 30 RBIs in 51 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .393 with 27 walks and 26 runs scored.
