Barrera Is June's Top Starter Thursday, July 1st, 2060 Ramón Barrera took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Frontier Pitcher of the Month award for June. The 27-year-old Jail Break starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 5-0 won-lost record in 6 starts. This month he fanned 38 batters in 40 innings and compiled a 1.13 ERA. This year Barrera has a 8-2 mark in 15 starts with a 2.91 ERA. He has given up 74 hits in 86.2 innings, struck out 89 and issued 41 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .229 batting average against him. |
