Hernández's Treatment Not Going Well, Suffers Setback
Friday, July 2nd, 2060
"It's worse than we thought." That was the news from the Bearers clubhouse today as it was learned that starting pitcher Jaime Hernández will be out for an added 6 days as a result of a recent injury. His treatment for a herniated disc will have to be extended. Initially it didn't seem the injury was a major concern, but the St. Paul starting pitcher told team trainers of some discomfort yesterday morning, and upon examination it was determined to be a more serious injury. "We'd rather take this thing slowly and make sure Jaime gets back onto the field healthy," said the team's head trainer.

Presently Hernández has a 3-2 mark in 7 starts with a 3.40 ERA. He has given up 37 hits in 42.1 innings, struck out 30 and issued 14 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .242 batting average against him.
