Appalachian Announces #1 Player Monday, July 27th , 2065 24-year-old Alex Smith sent shock waves through Pioneers of the Diamond last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Appalachian Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Smith made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .476 average, 10 hits in 21 at-bats, 3 home runs and 6 RBI. Where the Ozark Outlaws center fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Smith certainly made his mark last week. This year Smith is batting .297 with 13 home runs and 47 RBIs. |
