Bearers Snap Shepherd's Streak at 23 Friday, July 5th, 2058 After 23 games, Tim Shepherd had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by the St. Paul Bearers at Casket County Stadium. The Death Valley Burn center fielder failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt. Despite the tough day at the plate, Shepherd seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Burn taking a 4-2 victory from the Bearers. "It was good while it lasted," Shepherd said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory." Shepherd is swinging at a .382 pace on the year with 26 home runs, 77 RBIs and 87 runs scored. He has played in 80 games. |
