Rich Alvarado Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year Wednesday, June 9th , 2066 The doctors have spoken and Rich Alvarado of the Havana Comrades didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Alvarado sustained his season-ending injury during the Crab Apple Cove Mashers game yesterday at Vargas Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Havana medical staff reported Alvarado had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5-6 months. To this point in the season Alvarado has 1 win and 5 losses and a 5.67 ERA. |
