Injury Sidelines Mark Shaffer For Year Friday, July 15th , 2072 Mark Shaffer is doubtful to make the playoffs this year, according to sources within the Michigan organization. Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 4-5 months with a torn meniscus. The 33-year-old catcher suffered the injury colliding with a player at a base in a recent game against the Honolulu High Tide. For the season, Shaffer is hitting at a .200 clip with 4 home runs, 23 RBIs and has scored 24 runs. He has 48 hits, 30 walks and a .285 on-base percentage. |
