He shrugged off the performance after the game, saying "sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes." Ed Clay grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
