Rum Runners End Ross's Streak Saturday, July 27th, 2058 Thomas Ross, right fielder for the Honolulu High Life, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 1 tries against the Orlando Rum Runners today. Not only did the Rum Runners break his 24-game hitting streak, they also beat Honolulu by the score of 7-4. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Ross said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." This year Ross is batting .349 with 76 hits, 2 home runs, 30 RBIs, 9 walks, .380 OBP and has scored 28 runs. |
